Get Junior Deckie Certified!

For many years the festival ran the “Deckie Race” on the Saturday of the festival where teams of local adults would compete against each other. These teams would be put through their paces completing the every day tasks of the modern day deckie, such as rolling crab pots, moving bins of ice and rope work.

In 2025 we decided to change this format and see if we had any young and upcoming deckhands amongst our visitors.
This year we will be running the same format, bring the kids along, complete some of these tasks and receive your honorary deckhand certificate.
