Deckie Races

Tidal Seafood Festival’s “National Deckie Race” is a major part of TIDAL Seafood Festival with the history of the race going back as far as the festival itself. In previous years it has been a "hotly contested competition" amongst the commercial fishing fleet deckie's, but now it's open to everyone.

Due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to make some changes to the deckie races at the festival. The races will still go ahead but the format has changed.

The deckie races will be run by the Kilcunda-Bass cricket club as a fundraiser and there will be much more than just the races with plenty of activities for the whole family.

They will be situated on the beach beside the main marquee.

  • Entries will be now taken on the day only.

  • Entry will be per team (2 people)

  • Race will be timed with the 2 quickest for the day to face off for the win.

  • There will be other prizes along the way.

  • You can enter and run as many times as you want.

  • You must be 15 years old and above to enter the deckie race

  • There will be plenty of other kids games for those younger than 15, could you throw a float into a cray pot? Maybe knock the bails off bowling a float or is your aim pretty good and could hit a ball into a cray pot. These might be some of the skills the kids will need to win a prize.

  • Proceeds to the Kilcunda-Bass Cricket Club.

  • For more details head over to the race area on Saturday, starts from 10am.
