Victorian Seafood

We thank the following organisations for their role in ensuring we get to enjoy amazing seafood in a sustainable way.

San Remo Co-op

San Remo is one of only three remaining fishing cooperatives in Victoria.

Since 1948, they have serviced the needs of the local fishing fleet and the seafood loving community.

Located right in front of San Remo Jetty, The Co-op boasts a magnificent view of the beach, the boats and bridge to Phillip Island.

The Co-op sources fresh, sustainable fresh seafood from their own fleet of fish and lobster vessels. With an ever-changing variety according to seasons and weather, your choices will include live and cooked lobster, fish, prawns, oysters, scallops, abalone and more. If you are staying on Phillip Island, we offer vac-pacs that will allow you to stock on the best local seafood to take home and eat on your holiday.

Victorian Fisheries Authority

The Victorian Fisheries Authority (VFA) is an independent statutory authority established to effectively manage Victoria's fisheries resources. We work closely with many stakeholders to deliver three core outcomes:

  • Sustainable fishing and aquaculture

  • Clear resource access and sharing arrangements

  • Increased economic, social and cultural value.

Seafood Industry Victoria

Seafood Industry Victoria (SIV) was formed in 1989 and is a not-for-profit, non-government organization, founded and funded by professional fishers and fish processors.

SIV celebrates the contribution of the seafood industry to Victorian communities, because Victorian harvested seafood is:

  • Managed in an ecological sustainable way using environmentally responsible practices

  • The source of local, fresh and healthy seafood in Victoria

  • Important to the economic and social viability of Victorian coastal communities.
